I am a flawed human being, but I am loved. In a world where everything is recorded, scrutinized and judged, I find forgiveness, acceptance and compassion amongst Pilgrims. I believe Jesus taught us to love others no matter their differences from us. He demonstrated that kind of love and compassion throughout His life. I joined Pilgrim because I was looking for a church that was open to and affirming of the LGBTQIA+ community. What I found was a family who goes out of their way to make every person feel consequential, to make every person feel their worth and the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Having been through 5 brain bleeds, 1 stroke and 2 brainstem surgeries, I sometimes struggle, physically and emotionally. Pilgrims are there for me in those times. The best way I can describe how I feel about Christ and Pilgrims is through the words of the song, “You Say” by Lauren Daigle

Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know

You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And you say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe (I)
Oh, I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe:
